A case of the otogenic complication

Abstract

|
With the advent of the chemotherapeutic agents, the incidence of the complication resulting from the otitis media was markedly reduced as well as severity. Recently it has been altered the clinical pattern of the presentation introducing an element of masking due to inappropriate use of the antibiotics and increase of the resistant organism to the agents.
So, early proper diagnosis and adequate treatment of the otogenic complication occasionally has been difficult problem.
Authors have experienced a case of the otogenic complication, Bezold´s abscess and inflammation extended to the deep neck space. In addition to case presentation, a brief review of literature is made.
